Trend Surface

Trend surface analysis is an interpolation method that fits a polynomial surface by least-squares regression through the sample data points. The resulting surface is a generalization, which rarely goes through the sample data points.The spatial data calculator includes a tool  for creating regression models. The explanatory variables in a trend surface model are spatial coordinates, the dependent variable is the variable characterized by the trend surface.
